Windows 10: Cannot log into my MSA in Windows 10 (in office, in store, in Windows) Error: 0x80070781...

Hi there,


I cannot log into any Windows app with my MSA. This prevents me from syncing things from my account in Windows login and Windows store (as well as anywhere else on my machine), but most importantly it makes it impossible to log into OneNote and get my notebooks.


Whenever I try to login anywhere in a Windows app with my MSA I get the error: 0x80070781 "Something went wrong. Please try again."


It has been weeks now and scouring the internet has produced a number of tests I've already performed which do not solve my issue:

1. I have set the Date/Time zone
2. I have downloaded and installed _all_ Windows updates and am up-to-date entirely
3. I have taken steps to Allow my computer to use SSL and TSL
4. I have tried to delete the system32/lxss folder (it does not exist on my computer)
5. I have run the Microsoft Account troubleshooter
6. I have run the Microsoft Apps troubleshooter
7. I have run the Office 365 troubleshooter
8. I have completely uninstalled/reinstalled O365
9. I have cleared the Microsoft store cache and tried again
10. I have completely reset the Microsoft store
11. I have cleared the Microsoft accounts cache and tried again
12. I have tried to unblock my MSA, it is not blocked

Nothing works. Please help.

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
