Cannot log into my Windows account after clean boot, I get the "Pin is unavailable, would you like to set it up?" which does not work, it says I need to download an app from the store on loop whether i click yes or no. when I try to sign in via my password my current and previous Microsoft passwords results with Incorrect, and forgot my password doesn't do anything either, it just goes back to sign in, and i get a warning after trying too much. I tried to Restore to before the wipe, using shift restart, but it asks for a password again and my Microsoft password is not working yet again, I even

I tried to Restore to before the wipe, using shift restart, but it asks for a password again and my Microsoft password is not working yet again, I even reset my password and the new one isn't working either. I wish to reset it back to before the clean boot.

Also tried safemode but I face the same sing in issues.

I am at a loss, please help, there is a lot of important documents in that account. This is rather urgent timewise as well!

 

Windows 10 password pin stopped working

Hi,

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

• Are you able to start up your device up to the desktop screen?
• After doing the password reset, what error message are you getting?
• Are you able to log in to your account using a password instead of a pin?

In the meantime, if you are able to start up your device up to the desktop screen you may follow the steps to Remove Pin:

Go to Settings.

Under Accounts, click on Sign in options and select
Remove PIN.

After removing your PIN (this will require your password to do this), then you may click
Add PIN. Follow the steps to add a PIN.

NOTE: You may use the same PIN you have been using.

After doing so, log out of your account and sign back in using your PIN.

Log in PIN Not Working after PC Repair

This issue indeed occurs when the BIOS updates or hardware changes are detected by Windows 10. Here are some steps that you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Use Microsoft Account Password: Try logging into your account using your Microsoft account password instead of the PIN. If you can log in, navigate to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options". Here, you should be able to remove the old PIN and set up a new one.
   
2. Reset PIN in Safe Mode: Restart your PC and enter Safe Mode. Then, navigate to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options". Try to reset your PIN here.
   
3. Delete NGC folder: If you're comfortable doing this, you could try deleting the contents of the NGC folder, which is where Windows stores PIN information. Here are the steps:
   
   • Log into your account using your Microsoft account password.
     
   • Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft.
     
   • You should see a folder named "NGC". Right-click on it, select "Properties", uncheck "Read-only", and click "Apply".
     
   • Now, open the NGC folder, select all the contents inside, and delete them.
     
   • After this, restart your PC and try to set up a new PIN.
