Windows 10: Cannot Login to a User eventhough it is in C:\Users

The other day I removed my school email from "Access Work or School" from my main user because I am graduating in the spring. I did this because when people graduate they lose most of the services the school offers. I keep the Email the school offers but assume that the password is forgotten. Some how I made a user account that uses my college user name and password as my login.


When I removed the email Windows asked me if I was sure and I was so I hit OK and then it made me assign a Microsoft account to the user (I think) and when all said and done my PC restarted and I couldn't see my last user listen on the bottom left. Luckily for me I had made another user but unluckily for me it had the same Microsoft account that I used for school user. Great.


I tried lots of different solutions I found on google but non of them work and I even tried restoring the system back two days before I messed up and that didn't work because the Windows Apps folder was causing some issue.


I still have the old user on my C : drive but I lost the restore point I wanted to use. I read that I may need to contact my Administrator in order to fix this but I already mentioned what happened like a year before this happened and even he wasn't sure what I did to cause this. Normally you have to be added to the domain by the admin themselves. Any solutions would be really nice.



I feel like this is worth mentioning, I have copied the old user folder contents into a new user folder and I have my stuff from that. So if it turn out I am SOL and can't get logged back in than I already have my stuff.

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

 

Windows users at login

I cannot see all of my user accounts on the login screen on a new Windows 10 laptop. I have an account for my son and it does not appear as a user on the login screen. It is listed if I display the users with the CMD prompt. The only account I see is my
account which is an admin. His account is a user. All the suggestions I've seen are not available on home edition.

I suggest you to Enable
the built in Administrator account in Windows 10, and then try to create new user account and check if it helps.

I suggest you to refer the steps below and check if it helps

  Press Windows+ X, select
  Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
  
• 
  When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
  
• 
  At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active: yes, and then press Enter.
  
• 
  Type net user administrator
  <Password>, and then press Enter.
  
  Note In this command, <Password> represents the actual password that you want to set for the administrator account.
  
• 
  Type exit, and then press Enter.
  
• 
  Log off the current user account. And login and check whether your able to login to windows or not.
