Windows 10: Cannot login to Microsoft Store / Xbox services (0x409 0x80070005)

Hello!


I recently booted my Windows desktop PC after a few months of zero usage. I have Forza Horizon 4 installed, so I decided to give it a go.


Two issues:

1. I cannot login to my Microsoft Store account. I restarted the app & ran the PowerShell commands to reinstall missing/corrupted apps - No go.
2. I cannot login to my Xbox account. I get error 0x409 0x80070005.

Things to note:

• I have not done any changes to my PC. Last time I used it, I was able to play Forza Horizon 4 just fine. I can confirm I'm able to play games on other platforms e.g. DRM-Free, Steam.
• I have updated my Windows to the latest possible version.

Also, when I run the command


Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}


I receive an error saying there are apps running (e.g. Cortana) and I don't know how to kill these processes, soI'm not able to fully perform this command, or the equivalent versions of it.

Xbox App won't sign in - Error codes (0x409) 0x80131509

Hi Loraine,

I have the same issue, getting the error code "(0x409) 0x80131509" every time I try to login in the Xbox App.

I tried to follow all your steps.

• "Normal Startup" was already selected.
• Changed Xbox Live - Auth Manager, Game Save and Networking Service to automatic and they are running

Then wanted to delete account and cache folders, but there was no "TokenBroker" folder under %userprofile%\....\AC. Only a empty one called "Temp" which I deleted. Also my "Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider" folder is called slightly different: Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe.

I'm still unable to login. Do you have any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Windows 10 Xbox app error (0x409) 0x8007042


Hello,

I have problem with xbox app. When I'm trying to login error (0x409) 0x8007042 occurs. I have searched a lot of forums already, and it didn't help. I noticed that when I run xbox releated services an setup "Start type" to Automatic/Manual I can login, but after 10-15 minutes services are disabling itself. After that appears error (0x404). Is there any possibility that those services will not turn off itself?
