  1. Cannot login with a ID card - not prompted for selection of authentication certificate

For accessing several government websites, I need to authenticate myself with my ID card and the PIN of the ID card. To do this, I connect a cardreader to the PC Win 10 and then I should be prompted to select my authentication certificate. This worked in the past, but is no longer working now. I am not prompted to select a certificate and I cannot enter my PIN, so I cannot log on. What I have tried so far:Check the cardreader: The cardreader works; I can see the data on the ID card; it also works on another computerRe-install the ID card software. The website offers a test of teh software an

  2. Select a certificate for authentication pop up

Hi Sam, welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

Have a look in the Task Scheduler and I believe you'll find a task that produces this window.

From the search on the taskbar, type task scheduler and then enter.

Click on Task Schedule Library to display a summary of scheduled tasks.

Search the scheduled tasks for an item related to the pop-up window that annoys. Double click the task, select the triggers tab, double-click the trigger event then remove the check for enabled. This will disable the trigger for that scheduled task. Be aware, there may be multiple triggers in which case each trigger will require to be disabled.

Some individuals might suggest just completely deleting the triggers, I prefer to disable them so that I have a record of the original intended settings. With other events containing multiple triggers, I may just outright delete some of them.

Keep in mind that any Windows Updates or installation of apps may change these settings requiring you to tweak them to your liking again.

Please let us know if you require any more info and if this resolves that pop-up window.

Select a certificate for authentication pop up

Hello everyone, I'm new here, I am looking for a solution for the attached pop up:

Cannot login with a ID card - not prompted for selection of authentication certificate 295904d1599185881t-select-certificate-authentication-pop-up-certificate1.jpg

I keep cancelling and it keeps coming back every few hours and even appears to block internet access. In case the attachment is not visible it says:

    Windows Security
    Select a certificate for authentication
    Server: go.trouter.skype
    APNS certificate Direct
    Issuer: Apple iPhone Device CA
    Valid From: 29/08/2020 to 29/082021

    Running W10 version 2004 (OS Build 19041.450)

The only recent change was installing iTunes and using the iTunes library from my previous PC, but I have no idea, I cant find this certificate to delete so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks, Sam

Cannot login with a ID card - not prompted for selection of authentication certificate

certificate authentication prompt to a Microsoft NPS Server

one of my clients face this:

A couple of our Windows 10 PC's have started to show a prompt to join our secure wireless asking which certificate to present as authentication.

We have secure wireless network set up using WPA2-enterprise using certificate authentication to a Microsoft NPS Server. We have User certificates set up to automatically enroll on domain PCs. Normally the only certificate in the user store is the user's automatically-created
domain certificate, but on one of the affected PC's, I see a certificate issued from MS-ORGANIZATION-ACCESS.

Can you tell me how that certificate got there and how I can prevent Windows 10 from prompting the user for a certificate when joining a wireless network?
