I remote logged into a computer, it was after a reboot the physical location performed. The welcome screen forced me to create and logon with a microsoft user account, so i entered mines and the computer had me go through prompts, and eventually i was logged on as myself on the computer. What i can't seem to do now is log back on computer as the previous user, meaning, the username and password that the physically location normally uses to log in doesn't work. I'm only able to logon with my Microsoft account; but the office at the physical location cannot logon the computer using their norm

Computer Logon password problems

Thank you. My password works fine on my other computer. I have rebooted computer, turned it off and tried resetting the logon password twice. Both times I received a confirmation email from Microsoft confirming I had changed my password but the new
password will not work and the old password will not work.

 

File sharing - cannot grant logon type to WIFI computer

Computer B can see Computer A shared folder in Network but cannot access the shared folder.

The error msg is : Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at the computer.

I went thru many step-by-step guidelines including the one suggested on the forum,

I confirmed:

1. in Control Panel/ User Accounts/ Manage Windows Credentials, I add Computer B's User name, password. For Network address, I use the Computer B name

2. the username and password are correct and can be used to log on Computer B.

Some times, I got error of Incorrect user name and password when I click open the Computer A shared Folder In Computer B's File Explorer#Network

Computer A cannot discover Computer B shared folder.

Both computers can ping each other in cmd mode.

Running the toubleshooter at Troubleshoot/ Additonal troubleshooters/ Shared Folders in both Computer A & B : could't identify the problem.

How can I further trouble shoot the file sharing issue?

 

Previous File Explorer windows are not restored even after turning on the "Restore previous folder windows at logon" feature on a Windows 10 computer

This happens every time you reboot a Windows 10 computer, both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise.

Please try it yourself.

• Open Folder Options and select the View tab.
• De-Select/Un-Check "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
• Select/Check "Restore previous folder windows at logon"
• Leave the File Explorer window open and reboot the computer
• The previous open folder window will not be restored after logon
• Open a File Explore window and open the C:\ root folder or the C:\Windows folder
• The protected operating system files will once again be hidden
• Open Folder Options and select the View tab
• Locate the same values changed previously and look at their current setting.
• They will have returned back to their default values
  • "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" will be Selected/Checked
  • "Restore previous folder windows at logon" will be De-selected/Un-Checked

It seems to be a bug in Windows 10 that I would like to report.
