Windows 10: Cannot make Acrobat Pro DC the default program to open PDF files

I have Windows 10 Pro 64bit O/S and Acrobat Pro DC latest version.

-

No matter what I do - the Windows system immediately switches back to assigning TWINUI as the default program for PDF files.

-

I have even removed Edge don't want that program anyway and blocked edge updates.

But I cannot open PDF files with Acrobat Pro DC unless I right-click and select it from Open With...

Any solutions ?

Change default program from Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Same problem. Tried every way. Yes, I can get pdf to open in Acrobat Pro 9 with "open with" option. But I want Acrobat to be the default for all pdfs. When going to apps "settings" and choose DC reader it also does NOT give an option to choose another program,
only DC or go to store. In addition when looking in default settings under "file type" i.e. pdf, it shows Acrobat Pro 9 as default. But all pdfs still open in DC Reader.

It seems this has been a problem for a long time between Windows 10 and Acrobat. Any solution?

How do I use Adobe Acrobat Pro as the default pdf program to open files in folders?

When I try to set the default program to open pdf files Adobe Acrobat Pro is not even listed. How can I set Adobe Acrobat Pro as the default?
