Windows 10: Cannot mirror os boot drive using disk management

I have an MSI prestige 16 ai evo that I upgraded with a Samsung 990 evo 2tb but I cannot mirror the drive. Could someone please help?

If you right click the Pen Drive do you get either of the options, 'Break Mirrored Volume' or 'Remove Mirror'?

To break a mirrored set, follow these steps:

• In Disk Management, right-click one of the drives in the mirrored set, and then choose Break Mirrored Volume.
• Confirm that you want to break the mirrored set by clicking Yes.
• If the volume is currently in use, you'll see another warning dialog box. Confirm that it's okay to continue by clicking Yes.

To remove a mirror, follow these steps:

• In Disk Management, right-click one of the volumes in the mirrored set, and then choose Remove Mirror
• In the Remove Mirror dialog, select the disk from which to remove the mirror.
  
• If the mirror contains a boot or system volume, you should remove the mirror from the secondary drive rather than the primary. For example, if Drive 0 and Drive 1 are mirrored, remove Drive 1 rather than Drive 0
• Confirm the action when prompted. All data on the removed mirror is deleted.

 

Windows 10 (64): Mirroring the boot drive

My boot drive (C is 111.79GB SSD drive. I have another SSD, but is 256GB.

I would like to mirror the boot drive to the second SSD and then make use of the remainder as a work area. Is this possible? Are there any gotcha’s or things that I should watch out for?

Can someone also please detail the steps to accomplish this? When this is done, can I boot off either partition? I believe the second location be added to the list of items to try and boot from in the BIOS. Please confirm this.

I tried mirroring but stopped when I received the following warning message………..





Don’t want to destroy something or have to re-install the OS and the applications.

My disks look like the below and would like to use disk 5 to mirror disk 2 and the remainder as a work area:

 

Boot Emergency!

No it doesnt show. Only my OS drive.

Its there and it says it running and normal.

Anyway I just had the same boot problem on reboot. Everything was fine 10 minutes ago. Now it wont boot without my manually selecting the drive.
