Windows 10: Cannot modify or delete a folder from my previous hard drive. How do I remove the files?

I already looked over these forums and questions yet I haven't been successful. It says "You require permissions from Everyone to modify this file". I got that error after doing the steps found below..Steps to give permissions to the drive:Right-click on the folder which you’re unable to access and select Properties.Click on Security tab and under Group or user names click on Edit.Click on Add and type Everyone.Click on Check names and then click OK.Select Everyone and under Allow select Full control

3DMARK05 no install (remove previous version)

Ok well I found the culprit...It was an add remove folder in the registry , I had deleted the entry for 3dmark05 but didn't delete the folder because it had some funky number name , but once I deleted that folder that was responsible for the add remove entry I was GOLDEN *Toast :toast: ..thanks for all the suggestions*Toast :toast: *Toast :toast: *Toast :toast: I now have it installed again !!!*Smile

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Will I be forever stuck with these unnecessary folders? *Oh Well hwell:

 

The Correct Way to delete Windows Previous Installations Files (How?)

Windows.old folder is created automatically which contains previous operating system files in c: drive. As, you have performed Disk Cleanup Windows.old will be removed.

For more information I would suggest you to check if you can find Windows.old folder. Follow the steps below.

• Open File explorer. Select This PC
• Click the drive that Windows is installed on (typically, the C: drive).
• If you can find the Windows.old folder. Open the folder and check if the files are available.\
