Windows 10: Cannot occasionally rename files and folders via File Explorer

This is a very strange bug I began encountering ever since I got a new PC with a brand new installation of Windows 10 on it. I have never encountered this issue on my previous PC. Sometimes, while using the File Explorer, I lose the ability to rename my files and folders. I cannot find any help regarding this specific issue online, so I'm posting a question about it here.Here's how this issue manifests exactly:- Clicking on a file once to bring up the renaming window doesn't work.- Right-clicking and choosing the rename option also doesn't work.- Neither does pressing F2.- Newly created file

I have the same issue as one shown before

In W11 File explorer, when I select a folder in the list on the left and right click and select the More Options and click on Rename, the highlighted folder to be renamed, does one of two things, it either

1 - jumps to another folder, where all the characters are highlighted and available to change

2 - I am unable to rename the desired folder at all, nothing happens if I select the folder name a second time, to bring up the editing feature or if I right click and select rename from the more options menu

I have not found a way of renaming it at all but will now try to reboot and see whether that helps.

On the other hand, in my first post I posted step 1,2,3. Your links contains the same, but no more.

The issue is in File Explorer, that means I need solution in File Explorer, not in PowerShell.

To be more precise the issue is: I can't create new folder in a long path folder. Just now: I solved it half: I can copy a folder to a long path folder. That's fine but I cannot rename folder or file in a long path folder.

Cannot Rename File Folders in Win10

Were you able to resolve your issue? This has started happening to me the last few days and it is driving me crazy. Symptoms are:

• Renaming any folder results in "Can't find the specified file"
• Clicking 'Try Again' gives the error, "The file or folder does not exist"
• I am able to rename folders through any means except Explorer. It is not a permissions issue. I can write a small program that renames folders fine, applications function normally ... it is just Explorer.

Really not wanting to wipe my system after I just spent a week getting it setup.
