Windows 10: Cannot open any folders or run notepad on Windows 11 Dell G7 laptop. When I try, taskbar...

Yesterday, in the late afternoon, my Dell G7 15 laptop, running windows 11, was working fine. Late in the evening, it started to fail. When I try to open a folder, the desktop becomes black, the task bar disappears; then, moments later, the desktop and taskbar reappear. I cannot open _any_ folders. Additionally, trying to start Notepad causes the same problem disappearing desktop and task bar which then reappear. Oddly enough, I am able to run Chrome.When I try to run task manager, nothing happens. desktop and task bar do not disappear, but no task manager starts I tried right-click

Unable to open Notepad or MS Paint

I have a desktop PC with Windows 10. I use both Notepad and MS Paint frequently and they both recently stopped opening. Clicking the taskbar shortcuts to open them doesn't cause them to open; the mouse switches to the "loading" throbber, but reverts back after about a second without opening any windows. The same thing occurs when I locate the *.exe files in the system32 folder. There is no error message or change in state to screenshot.

The following descriptions say "Notepad," but in each case I have tried the steps for both MS Paint and Notepad, and I'm looking for help with both. Based on suggestions from around the internet I have tried:

1. running notepad as an administrator (both from the taskbar shortcut and by locating notepad.exe in the file explorer).
   
2. resetting the cache for the Windows store (using "WSReset.exe") and then running notepad.
   
3. uninstalling and then reinstalling notepad via Settings>Apps and features>Optional features.
   
4. restarting computer
   
5. updating computer and then restarting
   
6. uninstalling notepad, restarting, reinstalling notepad.

No internet on dell - g7 laptop running windows 10

When I saw the message on my laptop saying "no internet" I called Optimum. They did something and asked if I had connections now. I was on a different laptop and I saw that it did have connectivity but my Dell - G7 still does not. Using troubleshooting on the Dell, the error message said "turn on Wi-Fi". I turned it on but it turned itself off as soon as I tried to use it. Wi-Fi will not stay on. Wi-Fi is available for all my other devices. The laptop is 6 months old and had internet connection until yesterday. I called Dell and they took control of my system and ran diagnostics and found no problem. They are suggesting it could be a software problem that is not covered by the warranty and want me to send it to them (in India?) for a fee. Does anybody have any other suggestions. Please provide me with any and all advice you may have. Thank you in advance to all who read this and try to help me.

 

Notepad not opening ,but appears on Taskbar

I have setup a hyper v lab where in i built a windows 10 VM. I have a peculiar issue here. When i try to open notepad, it sits in the taskbar but doesnot maximise. but works normally when i run as a different user. Any suggestions are appreciated
