Windows 10: Cannot open network settings in Windows 10 the app opens for a second then closes

If you click the network icon in the lower right task bar, then click Network & Internet the app screen with the little cog wheel shows briefly then closesLike wise if you open the settings app, then click on Network & Internet the screen just closesBUT if you type 'ethernet' or 'VPN' into the "Find a setting" search box and hit enter it will open the related settings screenSo it seems that there is a problem with the app that opens the settingsanyone have a fix for this?? one that does not require reinstall of windows preferably. I really do not want to have to go thru the rigmarole

Store App opens loads for about a second then closes


1. Go to "This PC"
2. Double click "OS (C"
3. Open "Users"
4. Open your username (The Profile you are currently working in)
5. Open "AppData"
6. Open "Local"
7. Open "Packages"
8. Open "Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe"
9. Open "LocalCache"
10. Delete the entire folder, with contents, you see there.
For those who didn't want/need a step by step:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Then delete the one folder in LocalCache.
And that's pretty much it. Opened store and no issues after. Also if anyone is having issues with the Mail App, if you have AVG, it's the firewall on that so just turn it off and mail will start syncing. Hope this helps everyone.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
