Windows 10: Cannot Open PDF Files

I am unable to open PDF files that are sent to be via e.mail. This is frustrating as they are important documents that I need.

Can anyone help me please.

Edge keeps defaulting as PDF viewer

hi, i tried that as well as just changing the file type by right-click over a .pdf, properties then change PDF.

However, in both cases if EDGE launches it becomes the PDF reader again even though it cannot open PDF..

Sometimes in the default programmes window, I cannot uncheck the PDF box..

I use a portable version of Sumatra reader (single file .exe which is not installed on the PC)

Why does EDGE grab the .pdf extension if it cannot open PDF?

A batch of PDF files cannot be shared and retained all at the same time. The way it works is that an individual PDF file is shared to the phone, you tap it to accept, open, and store it in the opening app's file system....the next PDF file is shared with
the phone, you tap it to accept, open, and store it in the opening app's file system....the next PDF file is shared with the phone.....and so forth.

Did you save the .pdf file to your desktop, and tried to open it from that location?

That usually works best for me. I hope it does for you as well.

Microsoft Edge is the default app to open .pdf files with in Windows 10.

 

Have you downloaded and installed Adobe?

PDF reader, PDF viewer | Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Also, is Adobe the default program?

 

Also try using the reader app from Microsoft Store, or a different browser.
