  1. Cannot pin programs to start menu

Not all the programs I have installed appear on the start menu (all apps).

Even if I right click the relevant exe file (from file explorer) and select pin to start menu it does not appear.

If I select pin to taskbar that works!

    :)

Can't pin programs to the Start Menu in Windows 10, unless they are present in the "All apps" menu. Neither by drag & drop, nor by right-clicking and selecting "Pin To Start".

Cannot pin programs to start menu. When I right click on a program, pin to start does not,

    only pin to taskbar,

Cannot pin items to start menu on windows 10

Just upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10.

I cannot pin several programs to the windows start menu. If I click in explorer on a program and select 'pin to start', nothing is pinned to the start menu.

Some files are not found on the start menu. I.e. in w8.1 I've had two shortcuts to umlet and sdedit. Both shortcuts are still available in %appdata%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. W10 cannot find umlet in start menu but it can find sdedit.
I cannot drag any of these shortcuts to the start menu.

Some applications I cannot drag from the Most used bar (like VirtualBox.exe) but others I can (like cmd).

Please help me with this, I want to be able to have any exe and/or shortcut be available on the start menu.

P.s I'm administrator on my system and I've done all checks.

    Thanks, Wim

Cannot pin programs to start menu

Hi, regarding the first point, Win 10's start menu does not express the traditional start menu folder structure usefully or reliably. Strange, isn't it?

Try Classic Shell (free). You can still launch win 10's menu with a key combination, and launch the universal apps from both.

CS. gives you choices- a Win 7 -like start menu, a menu that cascades across the screen, expanding control menu etc. You can even (I have) have a Win 7 Orb as your start button if you get the images.
