Windows 10: Cannot Ping a Device Laptop After Changing Domain Password

Hi!!


Anybody can help me regarding the weird problem occurring on my boss laptop? WINDOWS 10 ver1809

After changing domain password I cannot PING his device, and as a result other bosses will complain they cannot access his shared folder.


What I do as a temporary measures:

1. Unjoin domain

2. execute below command:

ipconfig /flushdns

netsh winsock reset

3. Join back to domain


And everything's back to normal.


It happened the 4th time already.


I've already tried below troubleshooting solutions:

I check the host file, no problem.

I check if he have static IP Address, which is under DHCP.

I check NetBIOS setting, and is OK.

Turning OFF the firewall, still problem exists.


NOTE: I don't have any control of our Domain server.

Question:- How to add client to domain from domain controller side?

Hi Guys,

-I have domain called lab.com created on virtual machine Windows Server 2008
-I have added a client machine Linux machine rhel6 to domain lab.com in /etc/host file
-I am able to ping DC from linux machine by IP and hostname .
But from DC I can only ping Linux machine by IP address and not by its hostname "rhel61.lab.com"

I don't want to add linux machine entry to DC's hosts file as it is DC so it should resolve it

But I wish to know what step or doings I am missing from DC side that I am not able to ping linux machine by its hostname.

Please suggest.

Laptop Hacked - Password Changed

Okay.... I followed all the steps in Option Four right up to Step 8,

where unlike the Tutorial, I got HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SAM\SAM\Domains\Account\Users\000001F4. No 'S' in the word Account.

Then, in Step 9, when I opened the 000001F4 key, I was instructed to change 11 to 10 in the first column of line 0038. On the problem laptop, the first column of line 0038 has a value of 15, not 11. I would supply a screenshot but I don't know how to do that on a computer that won't start.

So I didn't do anything. I obviously need more help.

Hi Andreas,

To isolate your concern, please answer these questions:

• Are you using a Microsoft account when you log in to your computer?
• Is it the same as the account that's in the Mail app?

Depending on your domain, you may need to look into the configuration of the Outlook so it will not ask you to provide your password every time you use it.

We also suggest that you change the password stored in your Outlook each time your domain password is changed.
