NO FIX FOR Airplane Mode

I have tried ALL the suggestions mentioned on this thread about fixing Airplane Mode and NONE work - not going to Network Adapter Power Management, not pressing the Fn WiFi key, not turning off firewall, not turning off services, not REGEDIT not CONFIG???????
Any OTHER suggestions? HP Pavilion Laptop -

Toggle Airplane Mode for HTC 8X SIM Card Fix?!

I'm wondering if anyone else has heard about the "steps" in the process for fixing the HTC 8X SIM Card Error...

Just called HTC about the 8X SIM card issue, random "emergency only calls" message, and frequent turning off of the phone. The rep. at HTC said to toggle Airport Mode on/off. Apparently that's the first step in the paper trail. Obviously this won't work but
at least I have started the process! Apparently the steps HTC requires before replacing include:

Toggle Airplane Mode
Carrier replacement of SIM Card
HTC SIM Card tray replacement
Replacement of phone (2-3 week turn around time).

I love this phone but I sorta need it to work...all day...every day.

Frustrating!

 

airplane mode

problem was:

pc cant connect to wifi cos airplane mode randomly turned on by itself

you can google to see why computer does that - microsoft seems to have never fixed this

fixed this by turning off something in services (this goes to show how many services are bad and should be off by default, again a long-standing microsoft problem that they've never made better)


new problem:

the wifi icon on botton left changed to the airplane mode icon

and when old problem was fixed, airplane mode icon is stuck like that

what are steps to fix?

what are troubleshoot this?
