Windows 10: Cannot Play Nancy Drew Game in Windows 11

Hi, My old Windows 8 machine died last year and when I finally replaced it with a new windows 11 model a few months ago, one of the first things I did was to start loading and playing my old Nancy drew games. After working through a variety of problems, I have been able to get most of my games playing I used voodoo to fix the flickering problem in the newer Nancy Drew games, but now I have a new problem... crashing.I started playing The Shattered Medallion and as soon as I finished the opening train puzzle and backed up to exit, the game crashed. Let me help you with the screen flickering problem when playing Nancy Drew Games on Windows 11.



From your description I know that everything is fine when you are playing STEAM games, only when you play Nancy Drew Games the problem occurs.

In summary, I can judge that the game you are currently playing is not compatible with the current system version, you can use compatibility mode to run the game.

Right click on the Nancy Drew Games> select Properties > Compatibility > check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for”> select another mode >ok

I suggest you try running Windows 7 or Windows XP (Service Pack 3) by select it on this page.

Do any Nancy Drew games work on Windows 10 ?

When updating my computer to Windows 10 I find that Nancy Drew games are NOT compatible. According to the Her Interactive website FAQ they said the following:

" Windows 10 Compatibility:

We know Nancy Drew game compatibility must be on a lot of your minds with the upcoming release of Windows 10.

Microsoft has indicated that Windows 10 has the same base code as Windows 7 & 8 and therefore all games that work on Windows 7 & 8 should work on Windows 10.

Now I see this post. Which is it?? Can there be a fix to make these games compatible? My children love to play them. If not I will revert to the older Windows version.
