Windows 10: Cannot reinstall or boot to Windows

    Cannot reinstall or boot to Windows


    A few days ago, windows crashed because it became corrupted somehow, and I tried a million solutions to fix it but to no avail. I then reinstalled Windows, booted into it and restored from a backup. But when I shut it down, it became corrupted again. I reinstalled Windows again, and booted into it, started to restore from backup and during the restore process, the PC shut down and again I can't boot into it. When I select the drive I installed Windows on from the boot menu, it says 'insert bootable media' or similar, and it shows 2 'Microsoft Windows' options, and then all of the drives, including the SSD I've tried to install Windows on repeatedly.
    I've booted Ubuntu from a USB stick to check that there is a Windows installation on the SSD, and it is there.

    What is the issue, I can't figure out what is happening?

    Change motherboards without reinstalling Windows 7!

    Don't even need to go through all those steps. Once you got into safe mode,windows 7 will rebuild it's drivers automatically. Boot normally and then install chipset drivers if not already in.

    Edit:
    One thing though, it gets hectic with RAID and you will NEED to reinstall/rebuild the array. Only circumstance where you will find driver conflicts.

    windows 10 slow boot

    I was having a slow boot issue on my Windows 7 install a little while back. It would take about 30 - 40 extra seconds to boot up for whatever reason.

    I would try following these steps, while this didn't solve my issue, it did increase Read/Write to where it should be.

    In the end, I had to reinstall my Windows 7 entirely to fix the booting issue. It was taking around 35 seconds to boot, and after the fresh install it takes about 7 seconds to boot.
