Windows 10: Cannot remove network share fom File Explorer

"Experimenting" *Sad while trying to connect W10 computers on my Private home network. I created a share that I was not satisfied with. I UN-shared it and removed the test folder. However, that empty share folder link (W10-XXX) still appears in view with File Explorer. Attempted delete throws error. Just want to remove it for now?

I could scream! so much time wasted on this stupid error, as if time is not precious enough!
It probably would work fine if I could see the other computer! But I cannot see the other computer!

 

How to remove network shared files?


My Windows 10 seems to share some files and i cannot figure out how to disable files sharing.

I have 0 files in my Media player library, also, i have no other dlna sw installed that shares anything.

How to remove these files from shared list?





Edit: I just realized that all the shared files are .mov files. Are the .mov files automatically shared somehow?

I have used a small handful of applications that just won't open a \\host\share\file.ext

Annoying, but there may be a workaround, try mapping the share to a drive letter:

In Explorer, Tools > Map network drive...





Then choose an unused drive letter, and the shared folder.





This will work for most programs as it'll see K:\kitchen.kit
