Windows 10: Cannot Remove Pin on login

I recently have reinstalled windows, due to directx completely breaking for some reason... And now I'm stuck with a stupid **** pin on login that i cant remove, the remove button is grayed out... and if i try the ''i forgot my pin'' way to remove it it just forces me to make a new pin on the next login.This is incredibly infuriating, i dont need this ****, nobody else has access to this computer in the first place.

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.

Cannot login Windows after removing PIN

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that you are unable to login to the computer after removing PIN. I’ll certainly assist you with this.



However, please let us know:

• May I know the steps that you have performed to remove the PIN?
  
• What is the make and model of the computer?
  

As you are unable to login to the computer through Safe Mode as well, I would suggest you to try performing a system restore and see if that helps.
Refer the section Use installation media to restore your PC
from the article Recovery options in Windows 10.



Note: Restoring your PC won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

Pin Login not available and can't change or remove my pin

Hi Saschavan,

To help you disable your PIN login, kindly follow the steps below:

• Go to this location: Settings/Accounts/Sign-in options
• Check the PIN options and click the I forget my PIN available to click?
  
• Enter your password, it will prompt you to enter a new PIN.
• Click Cancel and your PIN should be disable upon reboot.
