Windows 10: Cannot Rename Folder in Edge Favorites

As the title says. I can right-click on a folder in Edge favorites and click rename. Once the new name is typed in there seems to be no way to save it. No matter what I do it reverts to the previous name. Is it like this for everyone else?

Recover a deleted favorite folder

There are no folders labeled 'bookmarks' in Edge, and certainly not at the top since that one is reserved for the Favorites bar and cannot be renamed.

How to get deleted favorites (and folders) back has been discussed in previous posts.

I also see that you posted a similar question in Internet Explorer without telling that you are actually using Edge.

So perhaps you are not even using Edge at all?

As a work round to Edge not having a favorites organization feature I tried to move links using file explorer.

%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User\Default

I also tried to rename a folder using. file explored. Once you do that the folder no longer is displayed in the favorites list. Renaming the folder doesn't help. Folders seem to disappear permanently.

I am good now. What I learned is you cannot move links as there must be a database like function going on between C: favorites and the Edge folders list Edge displays in the browser.

To be clear this is to a program bug but more of a case of a user trying to trick the application. Like I said there is code between that gets very confused if you try to trick the program code by renaming a folder or moving items between folders. The
moral is don't do what I did or you're favorites will be a mess.
