Windows 10: Cannot resize my OS partition

    I'm trying to shrink the OS partition on my Disk 0 to make room for another (small) partition but am having no luck. Disk Manager shows there is 0 shrink space.

    MiniTool Partition Wizard seems to work and reports no error (that I can find) but after reboot, the OS partition has not changed. size. I've tried with both leaving unallocated space and with creating a new partition following the OS partition. Same result - no change in size.

    I'm not sure what to do next.

    Nevermind. Fixed the issue by Resizing the main partition with a live USB linux OS

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • Run Disk Management. Open Run Command (Windows button +R) a dialog box will open and type "diskmgmt.msc".
    • In the Disk Management screen, just right-click on the partition that you want to shrink, and select “Extend Volume” from the menu
    • Locate your system partition — that’s probably the C: partition. Right-click on it and select “Shrink Volume.” If you have multiple partitions on your hard drive, you could also choose to resize a different partition to free up space.

    Resizing C partition

    Would suggest using Ease us partition manager for this.Disk Management is kinda useless for resizing.
