Windows 10: CANNOT RESTART WIN 10

Discus and support CANNOT RESTART WIN 10 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I installed a program called DISKCRYPTO, and after the installation, attempted a restart.     CANNOT RESTART WIN 10


    I installed a program called DISKCRYPTO, and after the installation, attempted a restart. I received a screen that said that it was unable to restart. It stated that the problem was "an inaccessible boot device" which is undoubtedly caused by the installation of the Diskcrypto program. I selected advanced options, and tried restoring to a previous point, but that failed. Can someone give me a fix for this to where I can restart my PC and then remove that program. My PC is a liitle over two years old. Thank you, Jeff

    Win 10 1607 Restart Issue


    I am having a Win 10 1607 restart issue.

    In my case the PC tries to restart but the monitor screen goes black and then the monitor screen powers off.

    The PC keeps running but will not restart.

    I have to push the reset button to restart the PC.

    Shut down works fine.

    In both restart and shutdown there are no spinning dots...

    Can any one help with this restart issue.

    I have tried most suggestions on the interwebz:////

    My next step is to go back to the previously installed version 1511 in which restart worked then do an upgrade from the 1607 ISO I downloaded.

    If this fails I will bite the bullet and do a clean install but I would rather just resolve the issue if I can as I have Win 10 running just the way I like it:///

    Inexplicable restarts

    Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...

    Meanwhile, as requested in the BSOD thread (sorry, I misunderstood and posted there by mistake), I've attached both ZIP files.

    One step I did try right away was to answer your question about whether my BIOS is up-to-date. I had no success at the AMI site but did get some info from this commercial site:

    win 10 update leaves vertical pink line on screen

    today i applied latest win 10 update and now i have a vertical pink line on screen, it remains on every screen. i have tried these fixes

    Step 1: I suggest you to run SFC scan,
    System File Checkeris a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Right click on the Start button, click on
      Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
      Enter.
    • After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
    Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update the display drivers and check.

    Steps to Update the Display Adapter driver.

    • Press Windows key + Xkey when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapter.
    • Right on the Display Adapter and click on
      Update driver software
    BUT i still have the line on screen.
