  1. Cannot restore AppXManifest.xml

I messed up pretty hard. Basically it all started with the Xbox Gamepass app refusing to delete a game I uninstalled. It hid 100+ gigabytes worth of space in locked folders. I got rid of it the first time by using a program called emco Unlock IT. This unlocked the folder and allowed me to delete it. After a reboot, the uninstalled game came back, this time hiding itself in WindowsApps. Not thinking clearly in my frustration, being unsuccessful with unlocking the folder with the aforementioned program, I resorted to a regedit I found online that let me take ownership of a folder by simply right

    :)

    Timeline under PEOPLE shows nothing

It's possible that some system files for the People app needs to be re-registered. To do that, we suggest following these steps:

    • Right-click the Start button.

    • Click Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Copy and paste the following command: PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *People*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage
      -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"
      and press Enter.

    • Once it's finished, close the Command Prompt and check if Timelines are available on the app.

Gice us an update on what happens after re-registering the People app.

  3. System Restore couldn't Restore the config files like runtimeconfig.json or any other json or xml files.

    Hi,

The data files such as .JSON/.XML are not monitored by System Restore. I don't think you can include those extensions for System Restore.

For data files, use the File History feature instead.

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect

In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
    5. Boot up with your new HD.
