Windows 10: Cannot restore default location of pictures to C drive in windows 11

I recently uninstalled onedrive from my pc unlinked from this pc, and uninstalled the app. I am now restoring my libraries to their default location on C drive. I have been able to restore my other Libraries ie Documents, Music, Videos etc, but when I try to restore Pictures the only Library location option is Pictures in the onedrive folder ie C:\Users\User\OneDrive.My steps:In file explorer navigation plane - click on Librariesright click on Pictures Libraryselect Propertiesclick on Restore Defaultsand this is where the default Library location appears as Pictures C:\Users\User\OneDri

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder

"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.

 

Accidentally merged user pictures folder with (G drive.

Thank you for your reply. The problem is when I relocated the user Pictures folder to G drive I never created a folder for it inside G drive, so it's now the entire G drive and the pictures folder and videos folder got merged with the drive itself. Check the last screenshot from my IMGUR link and compare that to step 3 from the option one tutorial you linked. When I try to click revert to default location I'm afraid it will move my entire G drive and its contents to the C:/User/example/Pictures.

I've moved shared Pictures folder to another drive but didn't name it Solved - Windows 10 Forums
I found someone with the same problem as mine and you told them to do the same thing and it worked for them. I should trust your expertise and try it then.

 

Trouble moving default folder locations from OneDrive to C drive

Hi there, brand new laptop with Windows 10 automatically set OneDrive as default location for my user profile and documents.

Unlinked PC from OneDrive, and most of my default folders now point to C drive, but Documents and Pictures still point to OneDrive.

Have tried moving these by right-clicking on them, going to Properties > Location > Move and selecting the equivalent folder on C drive (ie. Windows\Users\me\Documents).

It asks me if I want to move all the files from the old (OneDrive) to the new (C drive) location, but when I click Yes, I get an error message: "Can't move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that can't be redirected. Access is denied."

Please advise how to change the default location so Documents and Pictures are pointing to C drive.
