Cannot restore system image to a new SSD drive - "excluded disk" error

Using the instructions at this link, I am unable to restore a system image to a new SSD PCIeX4 drive,How to restore a Windows 10 system image to an existing or larger storage deviceI get the following error:This pops up after I am warned that everything in the target disk is about to be erased. In this attempt, I had cleared the SSD drive using the CLEAR command in DISKPART according to suggestion elsewhere. With an actual disk partition, I get other excluded disk errors. What is going on? How do I restore a system image to my new drive?

    :)

  2. Excluding disks from being formatted - during Windows 10 re-imaging process

I'm migrating my Windows 10 from an older SSD to a newer larger SSD, I've gotten through the backup fine and installed the physical new SSD fine. The point where I'm currently at and want to ask here about is with the,

"Re-image Your Computer" "Select disks to exclude from the restore process. These disks will not be formatted or repartitioned."

It then lists my 5 secondary hard drives/SSD's, including the SSD I'm migrated my WIndows 10 system to. If I'm reading the description correctly then I just need to click to check mark the 4 hard drives/SSD's that I want excluded from being formatted/repartioned. So that the one that I leave unchecked being the new internal SSD, that will be the only one formatted for the Windows 10 re-imaging. Am I correct with that?

  3. Transfer System disk image to SSD

The message I get when I try and install the image is
    The system image restore failed

Error details: The disk that is set as active in BIOS is too small to recover the original system disk. Replace the disk with a larger one and retry the restore operation. (0x80042407)

following is a copy of the setup for image creation

Cannot restore system image to a new SSD drive - "excluded disk" error 66410d1485963713t-transfer-system-disk-image-ssd-imagesetup.png

The bios lists the disk as Kingston and Windows shows Kingston SV300s37A 120G (disk 0) 111.79 GB as the disk to use in the disks to exclude screen so the 111.79 is the capacity as Windows sees it. I don't understand how it can't fit a 44GB image file.

Cannot restore system image to a new SSD drive - "excluded disk" error

Can I restore an SSD image to a normal hard drive disk

What I was saying was the reverse, cloning a 500GB drive with 90GB of actual data to a 240GB SSD. Can't restore a 90GB system image made by Windows to my 240GB SSD because I installed Windows on a 500GB HDD.
