    I created a backup of my old windows 10 laptop on an external drive that could not be upgraded to win 11. That old laptop is now gone.Now when I try to restore files from that old laptop backup to my newer win 11 laptop I get the problem message that they cannot be restored because of an invalid MediaID.bin file.When I try the restore I can select the specific .avi files I want, pick the restore location, then get the MediaID.bin error. The external drive backup folder does have a MediaID.bin file with the same date as the backup. Request assistance.

    Retrieve deleted files from corrupted recycle bin

    I accidentally deleted my inbox.pst, and when i tries to retrieve it from the recycle bin, I cannot access any files there.

    After checking this forum and elsewhere on the net, I have concluded that my recycle bin is corrupted, but nearly all the solutions so far suggest to use the command:

    rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin

    Maybe my recycle bin is reset with this command, but it also deletes the content for ever, and that is critical, and must not happen!

    I need to recover the file.

    (My backup is too old to help me out with the critical emails lost with this pst file.)

    Any suggestions?

    Invalid Boot.ini File

    Lately, I started getting this "Invalid Boot.ini File, Booting From: C:\Windows\" message everytime when I boot up my system right before it gets to the Windows boot screen. Is there anyway to get rid of this message?

    BIN extension file problem

    Demos dont come as .bin files - at least ive never heard of it before.
