Windows 10: Cannot run Microsoft Store Game In Administrator Mode

Hello, I recently bought Endless Space 2 from the Microsoft Store. I cannot get the game to open so I searched up ways to fix it. People on forums mentioned that running the game in administrator mode may fix it so I tried running it in administrator mode. However, due to the folder security rules for C:/Program Files/WindowsApps I cannot run it in administrator mode. I do not know how to change it, or make microsoft store allow me to run it in administrator mode. I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Minecraft installation in Microsoft store

We understand your concern as you are unable to install Minecraft in Microsoft Store. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  

• Do you have any non-Microsoft antivirus program installed?
  
• Does this issue occur for all games & apps from the store?
  

• What is the date and time on the PC and ensure it is correct?
• Do you get any error message or code?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and after every step check if you are able to install the game.

Step 1: Reset the Windows Store Cache: Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the
Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

Note:
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Select the
Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security
> Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

Step 3: If you have any non-Microsoft security/antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily and then try installing the game.

Step 4: If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to

create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

- When you say 'ive tried troubleshooting', what are you referring to?

- Did you check in compatibility mode?

I suggest to run the game in compatibility mode by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Right click on the ‘Setup’ icon for the game and click on properties.
  
• 
  Under Compatibility tab, check the option for ‘Run in Compatibility mode’.
  
• 
  Select Windows 8.1 from the drop down list.
  
• 
  Click on Apply and then OK.

Administrator privileges to run Games on Windows 10

Sorry to know that the Games fails to run on Windows 10 due to Administrator priviledges. I will certainly help you.

It would be great if you can answer these questions for a better understanding.

1. May I know the name of the games causing this issue?

2. Have you logged to system using Microsoft Account or Local Account?

3. What happens when you right click on the Game and select Run as Administrator?

As a workaround, I suggest you to install the Game in the Compatibility mode
and check if it resolves the issue.

A compatibility mode is a software mechanism in which a software either emulates an older version of software in order to allow incompatible software or files to remain compatible with the computer's newer hardware or software. Follow below
steps:

1. Right click on the setup file of the game and select "Properties".

2. Select "Compatibility" Tab.

3. Place a check mark next to "Run this program in Compatibility mode" and select operating system from the

drop down list.

4. Check the option Run this program as an administrator.

5. Let the game install and then check the functionality.
