    Cannot run saved files on my PC - You don't have permission


    Hi,


    I did a clean install of Windows 10 version 2004 and reinstalled most of my program.


    Now when I try to reinstall a program from a saved file on my "D" drive I get a error message.


    Cannot run saved files on my PC - You don't have permission cc49a027-e920-4670-9792-28dbc202a81d?upload=true.png


    How can I fix this?


    Note it is the same case when I try to access any files on my "D" drive.

    cannot access file/or permissions

    I have a file i need to run on Windows 7 Home Premium. I get the error message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

    So I right click and choose Properties to access the permissions but I cannot. In the Security tab I get a message saying, " You do not have permission to view or edit this objects permission settings.".

    Next I boot into the Windows 7 Hidden Administrator Mode - and even with this I get all the same error messages.

    Please help me as I really need to run This file.

    Hi,

    To better assist you regarding with saving of files, we suggest that you run the Sfc command in CMD to identify if there's any corrupted files that is causing the issue. Follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows icon on the keyboard, then type in CMD.
    • Right click on Command Prompt, then choose Run as Administrator.
    • Once done, type in sfc /scannow.

    You may also refer to this article to learn more about Sfc /scannow.

    Don't have permission to save files

    Hi, I did try searching for help with this but it wasn't working for me so I wonder if anyone can help.

    I recently installed an SSD and cloned my previous C drive to it. Everything works fine. Except that I cannot save files in Program Files or Program Files x86 on the drive.

    "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission."


    Now I only have one user on my PC. It has administrator privileges (obviously).
    I haven't changed anything since moving Windows to my new SSD so I don't know how to fix this.
