Windows 10: Cannot Save Changes to Word Documents or Download pdfs

Windows 10, 64 bit​

Open document that I've been working on daily. Make changes.​

Try to save the changed document with the same name and same location, using either the CLOSE button or by using SAVE AS: ​

"We can't save the file because it's READ ONLY. I checked. It isn't. To keep your changes, you'll need to save the document with a new name or in a different location"​

So I changed the name of the document:​

"Word cannot save or create this file. Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full far from it write protected it isn't or damaged."​

So I changed WHERE I wanted to save it:​

"You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator I thought I already WAS the administrator to obtain permission."​

The documents are NOT Read Only, Hidden or Blocked.​

Try to save pdfs from emails. Get the same permission error message.​

I WAS able to save the document by creating a blank document, moving it to a thumb drive, then copying the ENTIRE document I originally wanted to save onto the black document on the thumb drive.​

Saving a word document as PDF

Hi, I have created a document in word, but would like to save it in PDF. When I click "save as", there is PDF option in the drop down. I have tried downloading a converter from Google, but it changes my settings when converting. Any suggestions on how
to get it into my drop down options please?

 

How to save a scanned document as PDF

There are some options that you can do to save the scanned documents to PDF file. You may follow these steps:

• Copy the scanned document.
• Open Word, then paste it.
• Click File > Save As > Choose the location where you want to save it.

Windows:

At first, open the MS Word file that you want to convert to PDF. After that, click on the File tab, that is at the upper section of the window. Next, select Export. Change Word Document to PDF via Google Drive

Open Google Drive. If you are not signed in to your Google Account then enter the details for that to continue the process. Now, at the left-hand side of the Google Drive window you will see New with an additional symbol, click on it. After that, select the "File upload" option from the menu, and then select the Word document by navigating to its location. Further, click on the Open button. When the file gets uploaded, open the Word document. Next, click on File, and then hit on the "Download as" option. Lastly, select PDF Document (.pdf) to complete the task.
