Windows 10: Cannot save files anywhere but desktop

Hi ThereI am have issues with saving any files. If I create a document like PDF in accounts or image file in editing program in a folder in documents then try to saveit says File not foundCheck the filename and try againI can only save to desktop, works as normal I can save then over write with updated file.It is like I am trying to open a file that does not exist.I believe it was doing this with WIN 10 just before I upgraded to WIN 11It does not do this with MS products like WORD, just did a test.Very frustrating. Cannot find anything on this at all. I have run program/s as administrator. I

Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

Download CCcleaner from here...........

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

 

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

 

Cannot save files to desktop

Hi

I have ALWAYS saves JPEG files and normal Open Office/Notepad files to desktop.

At the moment, I compose say a note in Notepad/save as/desktop/ it does not arrive.

If I c/o start/notepad, it shows a list of files including the one i saved to desktop ????
