Windows 10: Cannot see closed captioning in CNN videos

Discus and support Cannot see closed captioning in CNN videos in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I can see Closed Captioning on all YouTube videos except for CNN videos. Why?... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Network and Sharing' started by Ebinu mashayniko, Jul 31, 2018.

    Cannot see closed captioning in CNN videos


    I can see Closed Captioning on all YouTube videos except for CNN videos. Why?

    I have no problem viewing Close Captioning on most YouTube video's, with the exception of CNN videos. Why?

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    I see that you are not able to find closed captions in Windows 10.

    Please follow the steps and check if it helps.



    1. Go to Settings by typing settings in the Search menu.

    2. Select Ease of Access as subcategory.

    3. There you will find Closed Caption .Click on the Closed Caption
    and on the right side you will see a list of settings each configurable via a separate drop down menu.

    4. The settings are divided into subsections namely Font and Background
    and Window. Here changes made affect the captions as well as background where they are displayed in player.

    Also try the following steps and check if it works for you.

    • You may try the steps to turn on subtitling in a video application.

    • Open the Video app.( Movies & TV app and VLC)

    • Right-click on the video you want to play.

    • Select Playback options

    • If closed caption is not available, you will see Not available.
