Windows 10: Cannot "send to" a "mail recipient" using the drop-down menus

Discus and support Cannot "send to" a "mail recipient" using the drop-down menus in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I use gmail but through the mail app associated with Windows.     Cannot "send to" a "mail recipient" using the drop-down menus


    I use gmail but through the mail app associated with Windows. I have tried many times to send files to a mail recipient but ALWAYS with the same message box ie "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program, or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."Would someone knowledgeable PLEASE help me, for once and for all, to be able to send emails using the drop-down menus as described above, and PLEASE make your explanation as simple as you can.

    Send To Mail Recipient Issues


    At some point in the last couple of weeks the Send To/Mail Recipient function has stopped working. When I select a file and do the send to, Windows starts thinking, the explorer window that I have selected this from stops taking input and then eventually, with no error messages, the explorer window closes and desktop explorer resets.

    My Default mail client is Outlook 2013 (15.0.4745.1000)

    Mail Recipient does not show up in Send To context menu.

    This is worth a try. I don't use Thunderbird, so wherever you see 'Windows Live Mail' in the screencaps, select 'Thunderbird' instead on your system.

    Control Panel->Programs->Default Programs->Set your default programs.
    Now click on Thunderbird in the left pane, then click Choose defaults for this program on the right.

    Next check that all associations, including the Mail To protocol and MAPI Send Mail are ticked. If they aren't, tick them and save.

    "Send to Mail Recipient" is missing

    Thanks, but I had seen that and some other solutions to problems that don't seem to match mine exactly. I have a default mail with all its default properties enabled—Eudora. My problem is that there is no entry on the drop-down menu for "sent to email
    recipient". No error message appears, because I am not being offered the possibility of sending anything by email on that list. I need to know how to create it or get it back. Meanwhile, I'm surviving with drag-and-drop.
