Windows 10: CANNOT SIGN IN TO CHROME/GMAIL OR FIREFOX

After a successful reinstall of Win 10 on my PC, I have encountered a problem with Chrome and Firefox. I have downloaded both through the Edge browser, but when I attempt to sign in to either, I enter my username, but when I try to populate the password box, it only allows me four characters, which is not enough to complete the password. If I try the 2 step verification in Chrome and receive the 6 digit code on my phone, the box only allows 2 characters. This happens when trying to access either Chrome or Firefox browser, and if I try to open Gmail within the Edge browser. Is there a Win 10 setting security? that needs tweaked. All Windows Updates are current.

I have tried this with the same result.

I click on Contacts, screen shows its loading but list does not appear.

I can use gmail to send mail as normal so my contacts are active I but cannot get the Contacts list wshen I click on menu on the top left of the page.

Thank you for your reply.

1. Using Google Chrome.

2. No third party.

3. Have tried Firefox but without success

4. No error message just the word loading at the top of the gmail page which changes after a while to still working.

Explorer, Chrome or Firefox ?

Chrome because I have a Gmail account, for all other purposes that require a quick browser because IE broke something, I just download iceweasel(ultra lightweight firefox)
