Windows 10: Cannot sign in to my Microsoft account on Windows system sign in, Microsoft store and xbox apps

After clicking sign in, it will show a blank pop up and disappear. I have tried signing in multple accounts but got the same issue. It is not signing in.But I am able to sign in on a web browser

Unfortunately, these steps did not fix my issue. Microsoft Account Sign-In Assistant and Software Protection were both already set to the settings mentioned in the post, and nothing changed.

Launching Minecraft Launcher, the grey box still appears, and then Xbox Live says “We couldn’t sign you into Xbox Live. The process terminated unexpectedly.”

Microsoft Store similarly does not cooperate.

I should probably note that I’ve tried basically every single solution yet suggested.

I’ve attempted to sign in with another account, I’ve tried using WSReset, SFC, DISM, Powershell and everything else, and I’ve checked— my system is not capable of “upgrading” to Win11.

I wonder if this might be a problem within the operating system itself, and that Microsoft would have to fix it in a patch.

 

App store and Microsoft account


Yes. When you sign in to the Store with a Microsoft account like in step 5 in Option Two of the tutorial below instead of switching to a Microsoft account you will and stay a local account.

There's a possibility that you are currently signed in on your computer using your local account. For us to sort this out, we suggest that you sign in with your Microsoft account instead. Follow these steps:

• Open Settings > Accounts > Your email and accounts.
• Select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once signed in with your Microsoft account on your computer, try signing into the Windows Store app.
