Windows 10: Cannot sign into Windows 11. Stuck in loop to create PIN on logging in

My computer was recently compromised by a Trojan attack. This resulted in me losing access to my Microsoft Account for a day. This issue was solved by the helpful online support. So I now have access to the login account, however when I attempt to log in, I can enter my password, then the system tells me to set up a PIN. If I attempt to set up a pin, I get an error.If I retry, the same error occurs. I did this 50 times. Definitely didn’t want to work.If I choose to skip for now, I get the “Welcome” screen for less than a second before I loop back to the sign in screen where I have to renter my

[Solved] Cannot skip create PIN when login and stuck in loop

At the last step of logging in using Microsoft account (there's no other options unfortunately) it will ask you to set up PIN. After clicking next it will show PIN cannot be created. The only two options are skip and retry. The skip button will send me back to initial password screen and back to the beginning of the loop.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem with all these threads and there's no good solution for this:

Most of them met this bug on a new computer, but for me I have been normally using this laptop for ~4 years and this is the first time. I don't want to reset my computer as I'm suffering from semester final things and I want it to work ASAP.

I have tried to boot in safe mode and login, and it said that only administers can login in safe mode (of course I am! This is my personal laptop!), so there's no way to log into it.

I have also tried to create local admin users in safe mode and seems that the created accounts will be wiped out when I restart the system to try to login using the new temp user in normal mode. Deleting / changing permission of Nqc also not work.

Is resetting the system the only option left? I'm super unhappy about this as this will take so many time to reinstall all applications (and potential losses).

Is there any other method to solve this? Can we set the PIN preference online?

One possible cause is that I changed my Microsoft account password about one month ago. But this could not explain why my existing PIN was also wiped out.

Since the earliest report I have found, this severe bug has been there for at least 1.5 years and MSFT has still done nothing of it. The same issue happens to DWM.exe memory leakage, and I really feel bad about this.

 

Can't log in because I can't set a PIN code

Hi,

Whenever I try to log in, my windows 11 computer tries to make me create a PIN code, however it always says: "something went wrong. We weren't able to set up your PIN" . After which it logs me out again. So I'm stuck in an infinite loop.

Things I've tried:

• Reinstalled windows: Didn't work
  
• Deleted NGC folder: There actually was never a NGC folder
  

 

Stuck in a PIN loop

I recently tried to install my family O365 on another PC. When I do it asks for a PIN. I don't have a PIN, typed in several usual numbers and no joy. When I go to reset the PIN it ask me to go to Windows Accounts and follow the PIN reset options. However, when I go into Windows Accounts there is no PIN reset there is only something to create the PIN. So I try to create the PIN but then it asks for my PIN again and I seem to be stuck in a PIN loop.

Tried to call Microsoft and they refer to the website.

Tried everything on the help website and am still stuck.

Can't find an email address for microsoft.

Would appreciate some help please. Many thanks in advance.
