Windows 10: Cannot sign into Windows: It accepts the password once, but rejects it the second time.

My father is having a bizarre problem. He has just got a new Windows 11 laptop. The specific version "Windows 11 Home Single Language".My father is trying to sign into Windows because Windows is asking him to do so, also in order to increase security. This is presented in a couple of places, from Windows Security and from the main Settings screen.Here is what happens.1. Windows asks my father to sign in, so he presses "Sign in".2. login is rejected first time but accepted second time

This just started a few days ago. When I login (to Windows 10), it rejects my password, but then it accepts it the second time. I am sure I have entered the correct password and this is happening every time since it started a few days ago.

When signing in via Settings, my Username and PIN are accepted, then my Password is accepted, but when Password is asked for a second time (“We’ll need your current Microsoft password one last time”), it is not accepted (“The password you have entered for your device is incorrect. Please try again.”). I enter it the exact same at both requests. I’ve tried multiple times. I tried just clicking Next, but that doesn't work.

I don’t know why it would be accepted the first time, but not the second.

How do I resolve this?
