Windows 10: Cannot start PC (system_service_exception) after Windows 10 Update

Hi,

I just installed the 2019.03 Windows 10 Cumulative Updates today, at the end of the installation it asks for a restart, so I clicked the restart button but then my PC failed to start again.


Basically after the login screen it goes to a blue screen with message “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart... at the bottom of this screen it shows stop code: system_service_exception.


Here are what i’ve tried to fix the issue (none worked):

I tried to do a system restore but it gives an error message “an unspecified error occured during system restore 0x80070020”.


I also tried to start my PC in safe mode but it won’t let me do it. Goes straight to the “Your PC ran into a problem” blue screen again.


Then I tried to run the sfc/scannow command in command prompt, it gives an error message of “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation”.


Not sure what else i can do here so will really appreciate it if anyone can help. Thanks!

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Bluescreen SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION on Windows 10

System File Checker tool and updated all of your drivers, we suggest
creating a new user account on your computer and see if the same error will occur while using a different profile. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

On Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Professional editions:

  Select the Start button, then select Settings > Accounts > Family & other people > Add
  someone else to this PC.
  
• 
  Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
