    The text file created on the desktop is empty for some reason. There is nothing in it. *Sad

    Well that's odd. Try it once more please. If still nothing, go copy the entire CBS log to your desktop, then zip it up and upload it. It will be quite large.

    Edit: Okay, I took a quick peek.
    There is not a single line with [SR] in it. (I have never seen a CBS log like that before.) That explains why your text file was empty. *Eek

    Are you getting any Windows Updates at all? Like minor KBs, etc? Just from a quick eyeball of the log, I think we're looking at resetting the Windows Updates components, based on the failures I see.

    If you open it up in notepad, and search for "failed", next, next...google some of the failure codes and they all point to resetting WU components.

    I know, not a solution, but a clue....

    You could try a RESET, or another in-place upgrade. Since you are having other issues, it's probably best to do that, as @Borg 386 suggests in post #11. I just wonder if it has something to do with updating before the 30-days were up.

    I haven't gotten windows update to work at all since I downloaded the new build. It always fails and gives me some sort of error message.

    Thanks for looking into the log for me *Smile

    I'm going to do a reset tonight and I will let you know how it went tomorrow.

    I would suggest try the refresh option first as this will preserve all your user settings.

    The other options:

    Push Button Reset also give you the option to keep your files.

    If none of the options that preserve user data fix the problem, then it might be a good idea to start fresh with a clean install.

    My mistake, what I meant was I was doing a refresh, not a reset. It finished last night but I haven't had a chance to check if things are working as planned yet. Will do when I get home today.

    sfc doesn't find any problems anymore either.
