    2.5 GB usable out of 4 GB of ram

    I have a HP pavilion g6 1301tx laptop. It came up with 2GB of DDR3 ram, windows 7 pro (64 bit), 1 GB ATI graphic card and motherboard - hp 1670 serial number- pcela212c1bo7I. Few months back I installed Windows 10 (32 bit) . Now I want to increase ram by 2 GB , total of 4 GB so I installed a 2 GB DDR3 ram to the other slot and checked system properties of my computer it says 2.5 GB usable out of 4 GB, now I don't understand why rest of the 1.5 GB is not usable what should i do to get 4 GB ram?

    Hello everyone! I have a ram issue on a HP Pavilion win 10

    This is a little off the wall of windows but I am sure I am not the only one out there with this issue.

    HP Pavilion g7 64 bit AMD win 10 insiders edition. I recently wanted to increase my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB , after rebooting only 4GB is recognized! I purchased more a second clone to the OE ram & same outcome. I unchecked the box in msconfig [ram size] no
    help!

    I ran CPUID and validated it and it is showing both 4 GB sticks total of 8 GB. It seems like there is an issue with this on HP laptops, I just need to find the right fix.

    Hi. I purchased a used Lenovo notebook from 2012 with Windows 7 Professional. It has 4 GB of memory installed. However, when I go to Control Panel, it only shows 1.27 GB of that memory is usable. Windows 7 is running very sluggish (understandably if it has
    less than 2 GB of usable memory). How can I use the other 2.5 GB to make my laptop faster?

    System Specifications:

    Processor: AMD A4-5000 @1.5 GHz 4 cores

    RAM: 4 GB (1.27 GB usable)

    Hard drive: 460 GB mechanical drive

    Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD Graphics (integrated)

    Operating system and architecture: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

    I REALLY need to be able to use the full 4 GB for this laptop to be worth using. Please let me know how to fix this issue.
