Windows 10: cannot type password on login screen, microsoft signin interface

I am trying to log in to my computer, but I cannot type the password. I tried using the on-screen keyboard, but it still does not work. I sign in through Microsoft account. I tried restarting the computer, it still doesn't work. I thought my keyboard is the problem, but it works with every other computer. the problem started once I signed into the Microsoft account in my pc to log in to my computer till date I have been using a local account. Plus, there is no optional sign in option except for the Microsoft option to sign in.

Did you made any changes to your PC?

Did you tried entering the password using On-screen Keyboard?

Does Keyboard and Mouse works are BIOS screen?

I guess there might be some problem with the drivers causing this issue. To confirm the same, check the working status of
Keyboard and Mouse at BIOS screen. Most PCs use the F2, F10, ESC, or DEL key to begin the BIOS Setup.

  Note: Be careful when entering into BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it's possible to change a setting that could prevent your computer from starting
  correctly.
  

If you can do that, then the problem lies with the drivers. Since you're able to use Mouse at login screen, then use
On-Screen Keyboard at login screen to enter the password to pass though the login screen.

* When you're on login screen, click on Ease of Access
at bottom right and select On-Screen Keyboard from the list.

* Then use you cursor to type the password with
On-Screen Keyboard.

* Before clicking the login, press the eye symbol
(I.e. Reveal Password) option in the password field, to see the password is correct.

To assist you better. I like to know; when you type password, are you able to view the black dots in the password area?



I suggest you to start your computer in safe and check if the same issue persist.

To start your system in safe mode follow the below steps:

• 
  Press and hold Shift key and
  restart your Computer.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshoot.
  
• 
  Select Advance Option.
  
• 
  Select Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Follow the on Screen instruction.

I tried your first step but I can't access the command prompt using recovery options because a password is requested, even if I try a system restore I can't because a password is requested.

the new account that appears on the login screen offers signin options (my normal account doesn't), one of the options is using my Microsoft account credentials, but when I try I'm told the credentials are wrong even though I know for certain that they're correct
