Windows 10: Cannot type username or password in Windows 10 login screen

I am using a Windows 10 laptop and login via a local account requiring a password.Occasionally, I cannot type into the username or password fields. The fields are there but no text can be entered. After a quick reboot, everything always sorts itself out, but I would like to fix the underlying problem as it can be annoying.It is not a keyboard problems as everything works fine after the login, and it is not a password problem. It occurs randomly about 30% of the time.

I was fixing a problem with permissions that my PC was having at the time and I had done all of the steps I was looking up on Youtube videos and how to guides and then logged into Safe Mode with networking and command prompt as administrator and did the NET USER command followed by my username, and I restarted the computer to see if that did anything, I got to the login screen but can't seem to login because of the password. I normally would be able to log in without a password but all of a sudden it basically requires me to type in a password, I have two passwords which I normally use and there's probably one that came with the computer but I can't seem to remember that one.

I want to login but I can't get past the password screen and I need help.*Mad

To remove your login screen on Windows 10, kindly follow these steps:

• On the search box, type netplwiz and press Enter.
• A new window labeled as User Accounts will appear, listing all user accounts. Click on your user account and uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.
• Enter your account password and click OK.
• Reboot your PC and check if your new settings has been saved.

You might face this issue if you have entered a wrong password or selected a different user account while unchecking the option
"Users must enter a username and password to use this computer". I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps:

• Press Windows key + R on the keyboard.
• Type “control userpasswords2” without quotes and press
  Enter.
• Click on the User account to which you login.
• Uncheck the option "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer". If it is already unchecked, then place a check mark and then uncheck it.
• You will be requested to enter the Username and Password. Fill in the details correctly. Type in the
  Username, Password and Confirm Password manually.
• Click on OK and then again OK.
• Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
