Windows 10: Cannot update past 1803.

Long story short. On my old Alienware Aurora R4 which I recently gave to my wife. About a year ago I tried to update my Windows 10 to version 1903 from 1803. Could not get it to work. It would fully install then fail at the last second and revert back to 1803. I even got MS involved and they could not figure it out and gave me the answer that the PC isn't ready for the update yet. So fast forward a year to today and I attempted to update it again but instead to 2004 and got the exact same error. Any suggestions on how I can get this PC updated out of 1803? Thank you.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Best thermal paste

Most decent thermal paste is about all the same (1-2 degree difference). Without knowing the two listed, (I use MX-2), I would suggest going with the one that is non-conductive.

 

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.
