    Cannot update past Windows 10 Pro 1803


    I am having difficulties updating past Windows 1803. Usually get the 0xc1900101 errors, this time it was "System Thread exception not handled".

    I've done all the trouble shooter steps, including using a media tool created USB image. Also tried resetting the update; stopping update services and renaming C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and C:\Windows\System32\catroot2.

    Everything I have read indicates I am having a driver issue: I have gone through and made sure each device has the most current driver by using the "Update Driver" from Device Manager and allowing it to search my computer and the web. I suspect I have a component that is simply not able to be updated; At this point, I really need an experienced person to help me review the logs and determine exactly what device/driver is causing the failure.


    I have the following ready for review, and can share the folder upon receiving an e-mail to share it with:


    msinfo exported to msinfo.txt


    C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther folder

    - diagerr.xml

    - setupact.log

    - setuperr.log


    C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Rollback Folder

    - setupact.log

    - setuperr.log

    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Cannot update past Windows 10 Pro 1803

    Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

    Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

    I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

    • Updated drivers
    • Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
    • Unplugged the printer

    Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

    • 0xc1900101
    • 0x80070643

    Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.
