Windows 10: Cannot update Qualcomn Atheros WLAN Driver

Hello I have a problem while I was updating Qualcomn Atheros WLAN Driver. I have updated my Wlan Driver from 10.0.3.462 to 12.0.0.953 by installer from my laptop manufacture, but the version still 10.0.3.462. I also have tried update it from extracted folder, but the version still same. Is there any solutions for that?Thank you

Unable to make changes on Atheros WLAN driver

Hello,

I have a problem with the Atheros WLAN Driver. I first recognize the problem when the computer is updating. I had an blue screen error named"athwbx.sys" during the installation of the updates. The problem is caused by the Atheros WLAN Driver update. Whenever
I try to update, uninstall, or disable it, I have the same blue screen error. What should I do now?

the Atheros driver on
http://home.arcor.de//downloads/10.0.0.318.ZIP should also work for the AR5B125 chipset.

Alternative download location:

Download this archive and unpack it into an empty folder.

Here is what I did to replace the Windows 10 driver by this one:

• Uninstall the drivers for your AR5B125 adapter in Device Manager. Do not forget to tick "Remove driver software" if this option is available.
• Let Device Manager search for new hardware. If a driver for the AR5B125 is installed again, uninstall this one as well.
  
• Repeat these steps if necessary until the option "Remove driver software" is not offered any more.
• Reboot.
• After reboot, go into Device Manager and choose "Update driver" for your AR5B125 adapter.
  
• Select "Search this computer for drivers", then "Select from a list of drivers on this computer", "Have Disk". Browse to the folder where you previously unpacked the ZIP archive to. Click "OK" and select the "Qualcomm Atheros AR5B125 network adapter". Click
  "Proceed" to install this driver.
• Reboot if asked to.
• After these steps, the WLAN adapter should work. At least, it works for me.

If you downloaded the driver from the Lenovo site, you can omit steps 5 and 6, just start the executable and follow the instructions on the screen.

Weird Intel Driver Update Utility problem? (Wi-Fi driver problem)


I have a
Lenovo Y700-15ISK Laptop (ideapad)
Model: 80NV

I'm looking into that suggestion right now.

I went to Lenovo's website and looked under Wireless LAN drivers, it gave me two different drivers:

-Intel WLAN Driver 18.20.0.9

-WLAN Driver (Atheros, Realtek, Broadcom)

The second one gave me "No appropriate driver installed."

I actually recognize the first driver and realize that it didn't suggest the latest version. The Intel Driver Update utility suggests 18.40 (latest) while the Lenovo site suggests 18.20.

I'll reply later after testing how 18.20.0.9 goes.
