Windows 10: Cannot upgrade from W7 to W10

Discus and support Cannot upgrade from W7 to W10 in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Thanks. I've gone for the cheapo free delivery so it could be over a week before I have time to try again. However hopefully a clean install will do...     Thanks. I've gone for the cheapo free delivery so it could be over a week before I have time to try again. However hopefully a clean install will do the trick.

    And I will be installing onto a new disk, with the old one safely out of the way. The down side is having to reinstall all the application software yet again...

    You still didn't have enough space on your C:\ drive. The upgrade from 7/8.1 to 10 saves your old OS in a folder called Windows Old so you can go back to the older version of Windows if you don't care for Win 10. With only 30GBs of space free, out of 94GB, that mean your Windows 7 install is taking upwards of 20-30 maybe even 40 GBs of space and can't be saved along with the install of 10.

    Grrrr, how stupid of the upgrade to not point that out before starting the process, or at least give a meaningful error message. I can believe it. However now the larger disk is on it's way I'll simply do a clean install when that turns up. *Mad

    I used the free version of TreeSize to check where the space has gone. Office is the main culprit. It's an HUP version which doesn't give any choice about where it will install. *Sad
