Discus and support Cannot upgrade Windows 10 1607 build 14393.2007 to 1709 in Windows 10 Updates and Activation to solve the problem; Hi, as the subject says, I cannot update Windows 10 to the latest version.     Cannot upgrade Windows 10 1607 build 14393.2007 to 1709


    Hi, as the subject says, I cannot update Windows 10 to the latest version.
    Already tried DISM and sfc /scannow, no luck
    Also tried windows update troubleshooter, windows update reset, chkdsk /f, clean boot, windows update assistant etc.
    Any suggestions?
    I have attached the update error log.

    hi.

    my current build is :version 1607 os build 14393.2007

    windows is trying to update to version 1607 os build 14393.2035

    my device is a laptop acer predator 15

    Windows 10 update affects files and pictures.

    Current version: Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.2007)

    Update that I install: Whatever the Windows 10 update assistant downloads. The Fall update maybe?

    you could try downloading an ISO image of Win10 v1709 and use rufus to write the ISO image onto a blank usb flash drive and run the setup to upgrade your existing version of Windows 10.

    I never upgrade or never download "feature updates" of Windows 10 thru Windows Update [need at least a 10Mbps internet connection for this] as most of the time, something goes wrong and I usually upgrade to newer Win10 releases only thru installation media - I have much better success that upgrading that way.

    Actually, you can skip copying it to a USB. Just double-click on the ISO file and Windows will mount it as a virtual drive, you can run setup from there to upgrade.

    Same here. Most on this forum report that manually upgrading from the install media is by far the most reliable method.
