Cannot use Microsoft Authenticator to log into social media account after a factory reset

Hi all,Someone attempted hack me and access my Twitter X account. I decided to factory reset my phone after changing all of my passwords, but I forgot I had 2FA enabled for my Twitter account. I tried to log in and was asked for a verification code that I obviously couldn't provide, since the account I added was wiped from Microsoft Authenticator. I've tried contacting Twitter Support, but have only gotten automated responses. Unfortunately, I didn't have backup enabled. Is there something I can do to regain access to my account?

    :)

  2. Can't reinstall Microsoft Authenticator after factory reset

I have a Lumia 950 XL and I recently had to do a factory reset on the phone to get it to work properly again. But now I can't reinstall the Authenticator app, leaving me locked out of multiple accounts I have set up with 2-step authentication, that is
    a disaster!

The Store tells me I own the app, but I can't choose to install it, and it is not available anywhere in the app list of my phone.

    Everything reset, even social media?

    Hello,

A few hours ago I left my computer to go for tea and when I got back I realized that my icons on my desktop had seemed to have deleted themselves and my wallpaper had reset. A quick look through my files and settings revealed that my WHOLE computer had been reset to factory settings, however, it isn't over yet: After I reinstalled some of my main programs I went onto my social media and noticed that, not only my computer had been reset, but all my accounts on social networking platforms: Youtube, Facebook, Skype, ect. had been reset also!

If anyone knows how to fix this or has had the problem please respond! I only just updated to windows 10 a few weeks ago and I'm VERY displeased.

    - Ben

P.S: When I restarted my computer my computer went back to factory settings (However not my social media).

Edit: Also my 2 key and @ key have been swapped?

  4. Cannot use Microsoft Authenticator to log into social media account after a factory reset

    Windows Microsoft account authentication

I have a valid Microsoft account and a Windows 10 PC with Hello/PIN account login enabled. I also have the Microsoft Authenticator app installed on an iPhone and configured for the Microsoft account. Additionally, I have two step authentication configured
for the Microsoft account. With all of that said, I have become very exasperated while trying to unravel the various authentication paths (and their security implications) through this multi level login security scheme. I find the associated account security
documentation to be woefully inadequate. Thus, I would like to pose the following list of questions for starters.

    1. Does Windows Hello/PIN amount to a two step verification login procedure for my Microsoft account?

    2. Does approving a Microsoft Authenticator login attempt (without two step verification explicitly set up)

amount to a two step verification login procedure for my Microsoft account?

    3. Does approving a Microsoft Authenticator login attempt (with two step verification explicitly set up)

amount to a two step verification login procedure for my Microsoft account?

    4. If answers to both 2 and 3 are yes, then what does explicit set up of two step authentication do?

    5. Does a coherent, comprehensive document explaining Microsoft account security configuration exist somewhere?

    6. If the answer to 5 is yes, wherer is it?

    Thanks in advance.
