Windows 10: Cannot use microsoft login on any apps that has it by default

Hi,I've been trying to install either Dolby Atmos or DTS Sound Unboard for weeks but am not able to. At first, I thought it is a problem with Dolby but it is consistent on DTS too. On both apps, I keep pressing try or buy but nothing happens as the microsoft login pop up does not show. At max, a small blank pop-up appears sometimes for a micro sec but that's about it doesn't appear again. Tried a few troubleshooter and reset solutions as per similar other problems but it did not work. Wanted to get it for half price of $16 but now it is too late for both as they are full price of $30 again.Tha

How to set Microsoft Photos App as default

• Navigate to Start>Settings>System.
• In the left pane, click on Default Apps.
• In the right pane, click on Choose default apps by file type.
• Set the default App to open .jpg files and check for status.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

 

Cannot set "Calendar" as default app

I would suggest you to try the below steps and check whether you are able to make the Calendar as default.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Select Default apps from the left pane.
• Click on Choose default app by protocol at the bottom.
• Select the Calendar and choose an app.
