Windows 10: Cannot use PIN to access account

This has been going on for weeks and is very annoying. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, my Win 10 began asking for password, not PIN, for access. This is not modifiable. All advice discovered, on this and other sites, has been tried without any success. The OS knows my PIN because attempts to remove/change etc all suggest that. It does not ask me to create a PIN. On bootup, I am always asked for password and have to type in my tediously complex word. No means of changing this seems to be available. Having tried every solution I could trace, I even tried upgrading to Win 11, only to discover that Win

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

OSK PIN login on non-touch device

Hello,

I suggest you to create a PIN for your device and try the on screen keyboard to login to the same.

You may follow the steps below to create PIN protection for your device.

• 
  Go to Settings and select account.
  
• 
  Click on sign in option and Go to PIN option.
  
• 
  Now click on Add and set PIN for login.
  

You can use the same PIN to login to your device using the on screen Keyboard from ease of access option and verify the result.
